Homework and Agendas:
Students will bring home agendas each night. Please check these daily and sign. You will also see a behavior grade/ comment each day. This is a great communication tool that will be used throughout the year.
Spelling:
Students will receive spelling words each week with a specific spelling pattern. Students will have the list on the top sheet of their homework, as well as their agenda. The spelling activity each night is located on the top sheet of the packet.
Math:
The students will have a spiral math worksheet they will have to complete each night. The worksheet will have all the homework for the entire week on one paper. They should complete the correct column each night (Monday night the student should complete the column under Monday). This will help them practice the skills and strategies we learned in class.
Reading:
Students are to read every night of the week. It is ideal for students to read 20 minutes every night. I also encourage you to read with your child also, so that they are able to have discussions about their reading. There is also a reading grid that will be used with different written response activities that students will complete. These response questions reflect those that the students will see on the 2nd grade Reading Assessments.
*Reading homework for the week will be collected on Friday.
